A) King Creek
This outing wasn’t part of my FAM. November 30th, Dean and I climbed the three main seepages (with the middle one being, at 30 m high, by far the tallest, most secure and easiest). The first seepage is actually a mixed climb to a fixed belay. Ice is thinner and climbers should know their skill level before roping up. While most year the third seepage is nothing more than some hollow ice and a mix climb, it was already fat enough to be climbed from two distinct standpoints. Overall, this year’s ice is (already) far thicker than what I’ve seen in the past two winters.
